This 6-day Botswana and Zimbabwe safari is a wildlife extravaganza that starts and ends in Victoria Falls. This small town is a hub for visitors from across the world who come to Zimbabwe to see the spectacular Vic Falls. It’s also the departure point for a host of adrenaline-pumping Victoria Falls adventure activities. You’ll spend your first night here at the popular Ilala Lodge. The next 4 nights is pure bliss for wildlife enthusiasts as we go on safari to Chobe and Hwange.

1 Ilala Lodge Hotel, Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation where you will spend the night. This afternoon you have the opportunity to relax while on a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.

Sunset Cruise Enjoy a brief history of the river with a cocktail in hand as you set out on the Sunset Cruise. Snack on delicacies from the high tea selection, as well as other delectable snacks, and be treated to any of the thirst-quenching beverages from the fully-stocked bar, while you take in the wild Zambezi.

2 Hideaways Camp Kuzuma, Chobe, Chobe National Park

Botswana
Despite recent and surprisingly rapid modernization, Botswana’s cities provide little in the way of tourist attractions. However, what the cities lack in excitement, the surrounding wilderness areas more than make up for in outstanding natural beauty. The country’s primary tourist draw card is undoubtedly the vast red expanse of the Kalahari desert and its remarkably beautiful Okavango Delta – the largest inland delta in the world provide a haven for an abundance of African wildlife. Other highlights include the impressive Makgadikgadi salt pans where visitors are privy to massive zebra migrations during the flood season; the Savuti plains which host large prides of lions; and the Tsodilo Hills where 4500 rock paintings form a unique record of human settlement over many millennia.

Chobe National Park
Renowned for its impressive, shifting migratory population of more than 50,000 elephants, Chobe National Park is situated in the far north-east of Botswana, bordered to the north by the mighty Chobe River. As the second largest national park in Botswana, and it has four distinct eco-systems: Serondela in the extreme northeast with fertile plains and thick forests; the Savuti Channel in the west; the Linyanti Swamps in the northwest; and the arid hinterland in between. This diversity of habitats provides a sanctuary to an astonishing array of African wildlife. In addition to spotting Chobe’s great pachyderm herds, you are likely to spot lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, impala, waterbuck, kudu, zebra, wildebeest giraffe, and warthog. The park is also famous for its wonderful riverboat safaris, making Chobe an essential destination for any avid safari enthusiast.

Day Itinerary
This morning you will be taken on a guided tour of the mighty Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
After this, you will depart for your cruise on the Chobe River while enjoying a light lunch. You will then be transferred to Camp Kuzuma, situated in the Chobe region of Botswana. On arrival you can relax on your own private deck or at the pool area, before an afternoon game drive on our concession.

Overnight: Hideaways Camp Kuzuma, Chobe
Camp Kuzuma is an exclusive and private boutique tented camp situated in the pristine Kazuma Forest reserve in the Chobe region of Botswana. The lodge is located 85km from Kasane and approximately an hours’ drive from Kasane airport.
With over 20 000 hectares of private traversing concession, Camp Kuzuma offers an incredible and unforgettable African wilderness experience.
The camp has 7 luxury open planned tented suites situated under a canopy of Mopane trees, designed to look out into the bushveld while providing absolute privacy.
The main lodge area is home to an open plan bar, lounge and dining area and area extends onto a large wooden deck with a swimming pool that overlooks a floodlit waterhole that is frequently visited by an abundance of wildlife. WIFI is available in the main area.
The nearby sunken firepit just off the deck is a welcoming space for guests looking for find solitude and comfort whilst reading a book in the cool afternoon breeze.
Our aim at Camp Kuzuma is to tread the earth lightly and minimize our carbon footprint. We operate completely off the grid using 100% renewable solar energy systems, with power being generated by solar panels.

3 Hideaways Camp Kuzuma, Chobe, Chobe National Park

Today is spent on game drives on our 11 000 hectare concession. Chobe, being the second largest national park in Botswana covering 10,566 square km, has one of the greatest concentrations of elephant found on the African continent. Besides the breeding herds of elephants, one can also find wildebeest, buffalo, antelope, sable, giraffe, zebra, lion and leopard in the expansive grassland, natural pans and Mopane tree forests.

4 - 5 Hideaways Nantwich, Hwange, Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park
Hwange National Park is the largest reserve in Zimbabwe and is home to a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, lions, zebras and about 40 000 elephants. It is also a protected region for endangered species. The area stretches from sandy dunes and savannahs through to rocky terrain and forests.

Day Itinerary
This morning after breakfast, you will transfer to Nantwich, Hwange. The lodge, situated in the Northwest corner of the park, overlooks a large dam with resident crocodile and hippo, boasting one of the best views in the park. Spend the next two days traversing this largely untouched area with game drives and walks.

A unique, small and intimate eco-lodge reclaimed from a bygone era, for true safari lovers who want to get off the beaten track and discover the pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife of Northern Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe.
Each suite has been lovingly recreated in an eco-friendly way, repurposing and refreshing with a modern touch. We have repurposed existing elements into stylish and useful interiors around the lodge, a prime example of true African innovation.
The main communal area consists of inside and outside lounge and dining spaces, a communal Boma area and a curio shop. An open display kitchen allows guests to observe and interact with chefs as their meals are being prepared. The main area overlooks a waterhole and large dam where wildlife frequent throughout the day. Another outside dining area is located at the pool which is separate and allows for alternative dining with views over the plains and easy access to the pool. There is also a natural swimming pool with grand views over the plains. Complimentary WIFI is available in the main area.

6 End of Itinerary

Our safari ends after breakfast. You will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport in time for your departure flight. We hope to welcome you again one day on another of our African adventures!
