Mauritius is famed for its beaches, turquoise waters teeming with marine wildlife and sumptuous hotels. If you crave a little adventure, there is plenty to explore. Go hiking in Black River Gorges National Park, enjoy shopping at Flacq market and wander around the extensive botanical gardens. Make time to connect with people; the diversity of cultures is perhaps the island’s biggest asset.
Mauritius has a tropical, warm climate. Summer is hot and wet (December to April) and winter (May to November) is warm and dry. Mauritius is prone to tropical cyclones between January and March. Weather stations are in place and cyclones are usually broadcast in advance. Most pass without causing any harm.
